Job Summary: Work under moderate supervision to prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.

Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested and uniform recipes.
|
2.
|
Serve food according to meal schedules departmental policies and procedures and practices and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers.
|
3.
|
Store and handle food items and supplies safely and according to established procedures. Maintain a clean and organized storage area.
|
4.
|
Ensures kitchens are clean and equipment is being used properly and submits work orders as needed.
|
5.
|
Assist kitchen managers in planning and organizing meals to have sufficient food to meet the serving size requirement and the number of children that normally eat in the cafeteria.
|
6.
|
Handle and record cashier functions accurately.
|
7.
|
Help record food requisitions and order necessary supplies.
|
8.
|
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
|

|
|
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Food Service Worker Certification; preferred
|
Work Experience: Six months to one year of related experience.
|
Competencies:
- Must be able to read, speak and comprehend English and good written, verbal command of the English language..
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Knowledge of Point of Sale.
- Knowledge of Offer vs. Serve and choice.
- Knowledge of reimbursable Meal Pattern.
- Training, certification and/ or experience in quantity food preparation, food storage, and food safety and sanitation.

Equipment Used: Microsoft Office, Eduphoria, Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier). General Knowledge of accounting procedures, district policies and school law.
